November 30 - Tania of Love Big, Bake Often chose the Devilish Shortcakes on page 425 of Baking From My Home To Yours by Dorie Greenspan.
These are very tender (read will fall apart if you even think of slitting them with a knife) shortcakes.
They do have a devils food cake thing going for them. I think I like the original version better, but the kids got excited about chocolate cake with strawberries (shortcake is not dessert commonly eaten in Australia). Big scone/biscuit with jam and cream culture but not so much the fresh fruit in above combo.
