January 1, 2008 – Brown Sugar-Pecan Shortbread, recipe found on page 127 of BFMHTY. This was the recipe that started off the TWD bake along.
Our house really liked these. They were simple kind of caramel-y slightly chewy russian teacakes without the powdered sugar attack. OK, that description doesn’t make them sound simple but they were super good with a cup of tea.
Dorie didn’t mention how far apart to leave these so mine ended up having a cuddle in the oven. Fresh out of the oven I used a bencher to cut the shortbread into individual portions.
These will probably get made again. Happy Days.
