For October 18, 2011 – Hindy of Bubie’s Little Baker chose Ginger Jazzed Brownies on page 101 f BFMHTY by Dorie Greenspan.
These bake up as a cakey style brownie. For me the ginger wasn’t amazingly noticeable rather just left you with an indefinable warmth in the mouth. Matthew described it as a round flavour.
I am a little late this week again. I have been busy baking- a few repeats for Liams birthday cake (the blondies recipe with blue and raspberries became smurfberry cake for 8 year old Liam). We also made a mulberry pie – rather smurfberry pie using Dories crust recipe. And at MIL request the upside down cherry cake. All good.
Anyway back to the brownies at hand. They are lovely. I like mine a little more fudgey but Matt liked them as they were.
