Way back on June 22, 2010– Amy of Amy Ruth Bakes decided on Dressy Chocolate Loafcake on pages 286 and 287 of BFMHTY by Dorie Greenspan.
I made this as 12 mini loaves. This was the yummiest cake batter I had made in a long time. The finished cake was pretty yummy as well. My only compliant is that despite using silicone and spray oiling it first these stuck quite badly. I even tried popping them out fridge cold but not much better. Oh well.
So I did these with cherry jam and apricot jam as the filling. The apricot jam gave it a very sacher torte kind of vibe.
These were yummy. Working my way through the final recipes and catch ups from the ones I missed. Not sure if I will get them all done before January but I reckon I will get close.
